John Jefferies - Rest in Peace
We are saddened to report that our peace activist friend and colleague John Jefferies has passed away. John had been unwell for a number of years but his home in Cobh overlooked the entrance to Cork harbour, and he kept us informed of all NATO warships entering Cork's neutral harbour enabling us to organise not-so-welcoming protests, including doing some appropriate paint work on the conning tower of a Dutch Nato submarine.
John’s Twitter profile sums him up so well: unrepentant socialist, anti-racist, sometime poet and writer, historian, ship-spotter.
Last year John Jefferies had his book Death on the Pier published. Just 3 weeks ago, the Moon Car that was the subject of John's book was presented to the Collins Barracks National Museum in Dublin.
John passed away peacefully at his home on Cobh Co Cork.
May he rest in peace.
